biography

From Japan, Shinnosuke's primary interest lies in the division of roles between national and local governments in societies experiencing population decline, such as Japan. He worked in the field of local administration and finance at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in Japan and the Yamaguchi Prefectural Government. He also served as a researcher at Keio University, engaging in cultural exchange projects in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo. As an undergraduate, Shinnosuke conducted fieldwork on Kuchinoerabu-Jima, a remote island in southern Japan, researching the collaboration between universities and depopulated areas from a folkloric perspective.

He came to the MPP to discuss various governance methods of different countries and to explore how Japan, as a country at the forefront of addressing various challenges, can demonstrate leadership in the global community.

Shinnosuke is a Japanese Government Program Scholar.
