biography

Sarah is a Burkinabe/Ivorian, born in Burkina Faso and raised in Tanzania. Before the MPP she was an Advisor working on Human Capital Development (HCD) at Tony Blair Institute (TBI) Burkina, where she started as an Analyst in 2019.

Sarah holds an LLM in International Law from University College London and a BA in Political Science and Human rights from St. Thomas University in Canada. In 2018, she was a legal intern at the ICC Chambers. Sarah's interests in African politics, security and development motivated her to return home to obtain firsthand experience on the ground.

She is also passionate about gender equality. As part of her work at the TBI she repeatedly lobbied for the inclusion of gender-specific initiatives in Burkina's HCD strategy for 2020–2025. Because of her dedication to promoting gender equality, her colleagues now call Sarah Madame Minister on gender.

During her studies at the School, Sarah is also interested in exploring health, security, climate change, and technology policies. She hopes to continue assisting governments afterward.
