biography

Rita grew up in the district of Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. She graduated Cum Laude from Universitas Padjadjaran with an anthropology degree and was chosen as The Most Outstanding Student at The Faculty of Social and Political Science and The Best Academic Student in her major.

Rita personally witnessed and was exposed to some of the most pressing issues on child marriage, poor access to education, and systemic poverty. She decided to pursue a career as a public servant because she believed it would help her bring practical changes. Rita started working in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights where most of her role was heavily related to the conduct of the criminal justice system, juvenile justice system, women in prisons, and correctional institutions. At Oxford, Rita hopes to study further to have the required skills to identify policy models and patterns across the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, or in regulation at the national level.

Rita is an Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) scholar.
