biography

Ghislain is a social entrepreneur and policy researcher from Rwanda. He founded Wastezon, a cleantech enterprise that leverages AI to repurpose electronic materials into low-cost devices for low-income consumers or secondary raw materials for manufacturers. As a Research Fellow, Ghislain led continental circular economy policy initiatives with the World Wide Web Foundation and EU Commission. He currently sits on the Global Greengrants Fund’s Next Gen Climate Board and previously served on the EU Youth Sounding Board.

Ghislain has received recognitions and awards such as the Commonwealth Youth Award, GreenTech Award Youngster Nominee, Green Biz 30 Under 30 Honoree, and UNEP’s Young Champion of the Earth Prize-Finalist. Ghislain holds a BA in International Business and Trade from the African Leadership University. 

After graduating from MPP, Ghislain aspires to initiate transformative policy initiatives on emerging technologies across Africa.
