biography

Born in Texas, USA, Evan Walker completed her bachelor's degree at the United States Military Academy where she majored in Operations Research. 

As a cadet, she lead as captain of the Army Boxing team, was co-President of a minority leader development club, and was the 2020 Cadet Basic Training Commander where she educated 1,500 cadet leaders and trainees on inclusive leadership. 

While leading 1,100 cadets through the COVID-19 pandemic, Evan worked with a small officer-led team to draft the U.S. Corps of Cadets Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Strategy. 

After graduating and commissioning as a U.S. Army Officer, Evan pursued a Master's of Sociology from the University of Oxford. Her thesis focused on the networks of Army Officers in nominative positions to identify the structural and perceived barriers to a more diverse nominative candidate pool.

Evan's policy interests include defence personnel, diversity and inclusion and, more generally, labour policy. 

Evan is a Rhodes Scholar.
