biography

Elizabeth Abubakar is a lawyer and consultant with over seven years of experience.

Elizabeth served as the youngest Reform Leader on Nigeria's Ease of Doing Business initiative led by the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, where her efforts were key to the re-enactment of Nigeria's most important business legislation (amid a pandemic), the establishment of fast-track courts to improve access to justice for small business owners, and the technological transformation of business registration processes. Some of these interventions contributed to Nigeria's upward movement by an unprecedented 39 places up in three years on the World Bank's Doing Business Report.

Elizabeth's overall mission is to champion the reduction of poverty and unemployment via legal, human capital, political, economic, and enterprise development. She is confident that her experience at Oxford will expose her to more effective ways of fulfilling her impactful ambitions globally.

Elizabeth is a Poler Family Oxford Graduate Scholar.
