Andrónico Luksic is the head of the Luksic Group, and was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quiñenco (the Luksic Group’s holding company) until December, 2023. He had been the Chairman of the company for the previous 10 years. From 2002 to 2023, he was also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banco de Chile. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of many other companies within the conglomerate including Antofagasta plc and Nexans S.A. – both of which he maintains today.
In addition to his corporate roles, Mr Luksic is a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Panama Canal Authority and a member of the International Advisory Council of the Brookings Institution, the Chairman’s International Advisory Council of the Americas Society/Council of the Americas, the Global Board of Advisors at the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai, and the International Advisory Council of the China Investment Corporation. He is also a founding member of the newly formed International Advisory Council of China’s National Financial Regulatory Administration.
Mr Luksic is a founding member of the Harvard Global Advisory Council and the Columbia University World Projects Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Americas Executive Board of the MIT Sloan School of Management, the International Advisory Board of the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, and the International Advisory Boards of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, Peking University Guanghua School of Management and the Fudan University School of Management.
Mr Luksic remains deeply committed to the charitable activities of the Luksic Family. He has spent nearly 25 years developing relationships at major universities around the world, acting upon his conviction that education is fundamental to the continued progress of Chile and its citizens. This pioneering work has culminated in the establishment of the first Harvard University David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies Regional Office, the Columbia University Global Center Santiago, the MIT Sloan Latin America Office, and the Tsinghua University Latin American Center in Santiago. These efforts are accompanied by the funding of scholarships, fellowships, and executive education opportunities in Chile and around the world, all of which are coordinated and managed by the Luksic Foundation. He also created Fundación Educacional Oportunidad to support early childhood education and Fundación Amparo y Justicia to protect children and adolescents who have been victims of sexual violence and support their families. More recently, he launched Fundación Te Apoyamos, a platform to support direct requests from Chilean entrepreneurs and others in need across the country.
