The University of Oxford's Blavatnik School of Government will welcome the 2016 Kyoto Prize Laureates to Oxford for the inaugural two-day Kyoto Prize at Oxford. The Kyoto Prize is an international award that honours those who have contributed significantly to the scientific, cultural, and spiritual betterment of humankind.

Tuesday 9 May

Wednesday 10 May

  • Dr Tasuku Honjo (2016 Kyoto Prize Laureate for Basic Sciences): Serendipities of acquired immunity 
  • Dr Martha Craven Nussbaum (2016 Kyoto Prize Laureate for Arts and Philosophy): Ageing and stigma
  • Dr Takeo Kanade (2016 Kyoto Prize Laureate for Advanced Technology): Think like an amateur, do as an expert: Fun research in computer vision and robotics
