AIG fellowship

We’re pleased to announce that applications for our Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Fellowship are now being accepted for the 2017-2018 academic year.

The AIG Fellowship was launched last year and is dedicated each year to an individual from West Africa, in particular Nigeria and Ghana, who can demonstrate commitment to public service in their country, region and globally.

Our inaugural Fellow is Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, who joined the School last autumn bringing with him a wealth of expertise on electoral integrity.

AIG Fellows undertake a period of study, reflection and engagement of up to six months with scholars and students at the Blavatnik School of Government. To see the selection criteria, how to apply and more details please visit the AIG Fellowship page. Applications are accepted until Monday 10 April 2017.

In addition to the Fellowship, the Africa Initiative for Governance are also providing five scholarships for Master of Public Policy students from Nigeria, Ghana and a number of other West African nations; candidates must demonstrate exceptional academic and leadership skills and intend to return to the public sector in Africa after completing their studies.

The Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) works with governments, academic institutions and other partners to improve governance and transform public sector performance.
