We’re delighted to announce that Professor Sir Paul Collier has been awarded the prestigious British Academy President’s Medal. The award recognises Prof Collier’s pioneering contribution in bringing ideas from research into policy within the field of African economics.
Started in 2010, the President’s Medal rewards ‘signal service to the cause of the humanities and social sciences’. Other winners this year are theatre and film director Peter Brook CH CBE, renowned primatologist and UN Messenger of Peace Dame Jane Goodall DBE, and acclaimed author and critic Clive James AO CBE.
The promotion of research and policy change in Africa is at the heart of Prof Paul Collier’s work and has recently granted him a knighthood, so this new recognition comes as further proof of the outstanding expertise and commitment of our faculty here at Blavatnik School of Government.
