Being born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I've had the privilege to observe and participate in the creation of technology that is becoming more and more central to our daily lives. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley I worked at Google with teams working to develop the Android ecosystem by setting and enforcing policies for the world's biggest mobile app marketplace. I also worked at Ripple in the emerging distributed ledger and financial technology space to better understand existing issues that are preventing access to the incumbent financial system.
My experiences have led me to the conclusion that the world has many problems that cannot be solved by technology alone. I come to BSG with policy interests that lie in the range of issues being shaped by the internet, such as censorship, surveillance, and government regulation of nascent technologies.
