Miriam Zachau walker
Half German and half American, I grew up in Washington, DC, USA and Ankara, Turkey. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While an undergraduate, I worked in an MIT polymer research lab in Cambridge, MA, USA and in the adhesives division at Henkel in Düsseldorf, Germany. I then served as an AmeriCorps member through Teach For America. For the past three years, I have been teaching high school science in Detroit, MI, USA. I also coached the varsity soccer team for girls and the FIRST robotics team. My primary policy interests include education, environmental science, and sustainable urban development. I am able to pursue the MPP degree thanks to the generosity of the Clarendon Scholarship.
