Freshta Karim was working till recently as a Manager at the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit in the Administrative Office of President in Afghanistan, leading a team that monitors health, women and environment projects. She was one of 2016 fellows of International Visitor’s Leadership Program (IVLP) of the U.S. Department of State. In 2013, she was also one of the ‘Afghan Young Leaders’ fellow chosen by Asia Society, and also represented her country in a Youth Forum of Economic and Social Council at the United Nations, New York in 2014. Freshta started her career quite early when she was only 12 years old, working as journalist for radio and television. She has also worked with UN-Habitat and ActionAid Afghanistan and has attended a number of international workshops and exchange programmes.A graduate in Political Science from Panjab University, India under ICCR Scholarship, Freshta is also a keen observer, an avid reader and blogger.
