MEP Sophie In’t Veld is the Vice President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats in Europe and leads the Dutch delegation of the socio-liberal party D66. She is one of the highest placed women in the European Union and has a wealth of experience in policy areas such as European integration, internet regulation, privacy and data protection legislation, women's rights and gender equality, LGBT rights, Europe’s monetary policies, and the EU’s foreign relations.

Sophie came to Oxford to discuss the political reality of these topics based on questions from the audience and a selected panel of scholars. She is a strong supporter of European cooperation, so we encouraged a debate on the Brexit referendum, specific policy areas, as well as the future of the European Union.
