Multilateral institutions are less and less able to provide solutions to global problems, even as deepening interdependence increases the need for international cooperation. This project explains why global governance is increasingly gridlocked, and seeks to imagine pathways through it.
A book, Gridlock, was published in May 2013. We are now writing a sequel entitled Beyond Gridlock.
This project is conducted in collaboration with David Held, Professor of Politics and International Relations at Durham University, and Kevin Young, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
