Felipe Montoya Pino
I was born and raised in Medellin, a city that has allowed me to be fully aware of the needs of millions of people who live under poverty and affected by violence. This is ultimately what motivates me in public policy: the successful allocation of public resources to alleviate extreme poverty and inequality, and the development of tools to effectively measure wellbeing and prosperity beyond income, especially in the Latin American region.
From 2012-2015, I served as a direct advisor to the Mayor’s Office where we accomplished important goals such as an unprecedented reduction in the homicide, unemployment and poverty rates. In 2016 and convinced of the importance of public transport for the sustainable development of cities, I joined the Metro de Medellin to structure the Associated Business Area to increase the non-tariff-income. I hold a BA in International Business and have pursued studies in formulation and evaluation of projects.
