The MPP application deadline for 2014 entry has now closed, and the School's Admission Selection Committee have the difficult but rewarding challenge of assessing all the applications. We are excited to find out who will be in the MPP cohort 2014-2015.

Decisions on admission are based solely on the individual academic merits of each applicant and the application of the selection criteria appropriate to the programme of study.

Our MPP is designed for people at any stage of their career, so long as they are committed to improving the world through public service, in government, nongovernmental organisations or the private sector.

What does this mean in practice? Is there a 'typical' MPP student?

Looking back at the past two years of the MPP it is clear that our students are very diverse - there is no simple profile that all our students meet. MPP students have come from 48 countries and territories, and from professions including journalism, medicine, engineering, business, banking and civil service. There has been an almost even gender split, and the students have ranged in age from 21-46.

This diversity is considered by the students to be a great advantage. Tatianna Mello P. Silva (MPP 2013), listed this as a top reason to choose the Blavatnik School, saying "The plurality of backgrounds, nationalities and experiences brought together in the cohort gives its members the opportunity to approach issues from different perspectives and be constantly flooded with a myriad of insights."
