The People vs The Elite

Friday, 15 September, 2017 - 14:30 to 15:30
Blavatnik School of Government, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG

As part of the 2017 Meeting Minds Alumni Weekend in Oxford, we will be holding the session 'The People vs The Elite' here at the Blavatnik School of Government.

Public confidence in government institutions, the media and the private sector has dropped to an all-time low in many western countries. The panel from the Blavatnik School will debate how to bridge the gap between governing elites (politicians, government officials, corporate executives) and citizens; politically, socially and economically.

Panellists

Professor Ngaire Woods, Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government

Professor Pepper Culpepper, Professor of Politics and Public Policy

Professor Karthik Ramanna, Professor of Business and Public Policy

Dr Emily Jones, Associate Professor in Public Policy (Global Economic Governance)

Please note that this is a University of Oxford Alumni event. Tickets are free for Blavatnik School Alumni. Tickets for other University of Oxford Alumni are £10. To attend, please visit the Meeting Minds website.
