In Autumn 2014, children from primary schools across Oxfordshire were invited to submit a drawing of what they might see if they could look through a window on another world. The competition was inspired by the construction of our new building, and involved partnering with new neighbours Oxford University Press and construction company Laing O'Rourke. Entries were judged for the most imaginative, bright and exciting visions of other worlds. We received nearly 2,000 entries from children in primary schools across Oxfordshire.
Our winning pictures have been re-produced in large-scale to line the building hoardings along Walton Street, opposite Oxford University Press.
We received so many wonderful visions of a “Window to Another World” it was a delight to review them all – but very hard to decide on the winners! We have reproduced a selection of winners and shortlisted entries in the galleries below. Read our news story about the competition results.
